Patrick A. Haggerty, co-chair of commercial real estate at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was recently quoted in a GlobeSt. article titled, “Trump Unleashes New Lumber and Cabinet Tariffs, Sparking Cost Worries.” The article discusses how President Trump’s new tariffs on imported lumber and cabinets are expected to significantly raise construction costs and potentially delay housing projects.

Haggerty predicted that multifamily construction would feel the pinch first. Higher input costs “could delay some projects,” he said, while those in the pipeline may warrant “fresh underwriting by both the builders and construction lenders.”
