We know that having varied perspectives helps generate better ideas to solve complex problems, which allows us to better serve our clients and community. The Diversity Committee at the firm aims to not only recruit and retain a diverse and inclusive workforce, but also foster and encourage employee engagement and advancement. The firm is committed to fostering a working environment that values and respects the diverse perspectives, ideas, contributions, and creativity of each of our employees. Such an environment enhances the service we provide to our clients and the experience of being a part of our firm, by fostering an atmosphere of respect and inclusion. In furtherance of the Diversity Committee’s goal to recruit and retain diverse and talented attorneys and to build an inclusive workforce, we have several active initiatives:

• Candidate Evaluation and Interviewing - Committed to creating a comprehensive and thoughtful interview and candidate evaluation process, we ensure that a diverse group of the firm’s attorneys review the credentials of all potential hires. Our objective is to evaluate candidates fairly and to reduce and eliminate any biases in our firm’s hiring process.

• Affinity Bar Relations - Created to foster strong relationships with state and county bar associations and legal and community organizations that have a common goal of diversity and inclusion in the workforce. Through interaction with the associations and organizations, our attorneys share information about the firm’s initiatives and actions to recruit diverse and exceptional lateral attorneys and learn more about their members.
• Education - Designed as an internal forum for our attorneys to receive education regarding unconscious bias, and to develop skills and protocols that will help the firm sustain an environment that supports diversity and inclusion.
• Mentorship - Committed to providing our associates and counsel level attorneys with firm mentors to help our more junior attorneys gain insight into their areas of practice, how to advance within the firm and how to navigate the legal profession. Mentors offer advice and guidance on various topics to help ensure that associates and counsel receive the mentoring they need to maximize their potential.
