Latino Coalition Honors Justice Gary S. Stein

Pashman Stein Walder Hayden is proud to announce Justice Gary S. Stein received the 2018 “Civil Rights Champion” award from the Latino Coalition. The Latino Coalition honored two recipients with the award that represented the qualities of a “Civil Rights Champion”.

Justice Stein was recognized for his leadership with the New Jersey Coalition for Diverse and Inclusive Schools. From 1985-2002, Stein served on the New Jersey Supreme Court and was instrumental in the Abbott v. Burke decision. This decision provided equal funding to underprivileged school districts in New Jersey.

The award was given out on September 15 at the Latino Festival of Monmouth County in downtown Freehold. Julia Lopez, Co-Chair of the Latino Festival of Monmouth County said, “We are using the Festival as a platform to honor two Civil Rights Champions who have worked to create a better society.”
