Valerie Jules McCarthy, partner in the Family Law practice at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., will be a featured speaker as part of the Bergen County Bar Association’s upcoming “Splitting Assets, Not Surprises: Navigating Tax Implications in NJ Divorce Settlements” CLE. Participants will gain a practical understanding of the tax implications of property transfers, buy-outs, brokerage assets, and business ownership in divorce, as well as the unique challenges of structuring spousal and child support under New Jersey law. The program will highlight common pitfalls and best practices for drafting settlement agreements related to tax consequences.
