Pashman Stein, P.C. Announces New Member and Counsel
The firm has announced that J. John Kim has been named a member of the firm, and CJ Griffin has been named counsel.
J. John Kim joined Pashman Stein as an associate in the litigation practice in July 2013. In January 2015, he was elevated to the position of Counsel. Kim engages in a broad-based complex commercial litigation practice with experience in contract disputes, commercial torts, products liability, RICO civil litigation, civil conspiracy, fraud, securities litigation, financial services litigation, pharmaceutical litigation, legal malpractice, accountants’ liability, regulatory enforcement and special investigations. In addition, he is certified by the Small Business Administration (SBA) to conduct closings of commercial 504 loans. He has previously been a member of the Board of Directors at a non-profit Certified Development Company (CDC). Kim also has experience providing in-house counsel advice concerning a variety of legal matters to banks and other small companies. Prior to joining Pashman Stein, Kim was an associate with Manhattan-based Kasowitz, Benson, Torres & Friedman LLP and with Chadbourne & Parke LLP. He is a retired first lieutenant in the United States Army (Reserves). He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center and a B.A., magna cum laude, from Boston University. He is admitted to practice in New York, New Jersey, the Southern District of New York, the Eastern District of New York and the District of New Jersey. Kim resides in Closter, NJ.
CJ Griffin joined Pashman Stein as an associate in November 2012 as a litigator in both the employment & labor and access to public records practices. She regularly represents print and online media companies, commercial businesses, non-profit organizations, and open government activists in litigation under the New Jersey Open Public Records Act (OPRA). Prior to joining Pashman Stein, Griffin was a law clerk to Hon. Ariel A. Rodriguez, Presiding Judge of the Appellate Division, and a litigation associate at Scarinci Hollenbeck. During law school, she was a research editor for the Rutgers Law Review. Griffin is currently the chair of the LGBT Rights Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association and serves on the New Jersey Law Journal’s Young Lawyer Advisory Board. In addition, she is also the author of numerous articles on LGBT workplace issues and open government issues and authors the Firm’s OPRA blog (www.njopra.com). Griffin has also authored amicus briefs on issues such as student bullying and the unconstitutional criminalization of profanity. She earned a J.D. from Rutgers University School of Law and a B.S. from SUNY-Empire State College. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, New York, and the U.S. District Court-District of New Jersey.
