Dominique Kilmartin Featured in Law.com Following New Jersey Law Journal Unsung Hero Recognition
After being recognized by the New Jersey Law Journal as one of the “Unsung Heroes” in the 2026 New Jersey Legal Awards, Dominique Kilmartin, Counsel in the firm’s Litigation practice, was featured in a Q&A with the New Jersey Law Journal.
In response to a question about what law firms and other organizations can do to provide more opportunities for advancement, Dominique noted:
"The most important thing a law firm can do to support advancement is to invest in real experience. Seminars and workshops have their place, but nothing replaces being in the room—whether that means shadowing a client meeting or call, drafting a key section of a brief with genuine ownership over the product, or arguing a motion in court. Firms should be intentional about building those opportunities into junior attorneys' early years, even when it requires extra time or supervision. Beyond that, meaningful mentorship matters enormously. Having a senior colleague who takes the time to explain not just what to do but why can make all the difference. I have been fortunate to experience that firsthand at Pashman Stein, where mentorship is treated as a cornerstone of firm life, not an afterthought. The guidance I have received through the firm’s mentorship program has shaped not only how I practice law, but how I think about my own responsibility to help the next generation of attorneys grow."
