Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is pleased to announce that Aidan P. O’Connor, co-chair of the firm’s Criminal Defense practice group and co-chair of the firm’s Investigation practice group, was honored with a 2023 Professional Lawyer of the Year Award from the Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers of NJ and the New Jersey Commission of Professionalism in the Law.

The New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law is a cooperative effort of the New Jersey State Bar Association, the state and federal judiciary, and New Jersey’s three law schools. The initiative’s goal is to highlight the purpose that has historically made the practice of law a distinguished profession and instill public respect for judges and the justice system.

The award winners represent the best of the legal profession – those who adhere to the highest ethical standards and are known for their legal acumen, public service and for inspiring other attorneys to succeed, said retired state Supreme Court Justice Barry T. Albin, who served as the master of ceremonies of the awards, which took place July 12.

All of the attorneys we honor today – the three main award recipients and the attorneys selected by the county and affinity bar associations – have been chosen by their colleagues for their exemplary character, abilities and professional conduct. There is no higher honor than recognition by one’s peers,” Justice Albin said.
