Sean Mack, co-chair of the Litigation practice at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was featured on NBC News 4 I-Team segment on December 5, 2024, with Sarah Wallace.  Mack represents 24 people who invested in various real estate ventures promoted by Cesar and Jennifer Pina and others.  The Pinas are accused of misusing investor funds for personal expenses and operating a Ponzi-like scheme. Cesar Pina, who was arrested in October 2023 in connection with the alleged fraud, tried to stop two of the pending civil lawsuits until his criminal case resolved, but the court recently rejected his request and the cases will proceed.

Mack is also proceeding with claims in bankruptcy court on behalf of the investors. After Mack filed the initial lawsuit in state court last fall, a company controlled by the Pinas filed for bankruptcy, with Mack subsequently filing an involuntary petition against two other Pina controlled companies. The bankruptcy court appointed a trustee over the Pina-controlled entities and the trustee is in the process of marshalling and liquidating assets for the benefit of creditors.
