New Jersey Law Journal’s 2025 New Jersey Legal Awards
The firm has been named Appellate Department of the Year by the New Jersey Law Journal 7 times in the past 8 years (no firm received the award for 2023). This award reflects the outstanding work of the firm’s appellate attorneys on commercial cases and on pro bono and public interest matters through the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center.

In crafting briefs and preparing for oral arguments, the department draws on the vast experience of its lawyers and former appellate judges, including retired New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Gary S. Stein, the Hon. Edwin H. Stern, P.J.A.D. (Ret.), and the Hon. Ellen L. Koblitz, P.J.A.D. (Ret.).
In addition to representing clients on appeal in state and federal courts, the department’s lawyers and retired judges are routinely retained by other firms to prepare lawyers for appellate arguments, to assist in the preparation of briefs and petitions for certification, and to consult generally on appellate strategy.
