Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. Featured in New Jersey Law Journal for Being Named Seven-Time Winner of Appellate Department of the Year
After being named Appellate Department of the Year by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its 2025 New Jersey Legal Awards, Pashman Stein Walder Hayden’s Appellate Department was featured in the New Jersey Law Journal. The article includes a Q&A with Michael S. Stein, firm chair and managing partner.
In response to the question about the department’s long-term adaptations in recent years, Stein noted:
While there are many factors that drive a law firm’s success, one of most important is to be able to adapt and pivot, while never compromising the core values that define the essence of who we areas lawyers, as a firm, and as members of our communities and families.
We also believe that success begins and ends with recruiting and retaining the best and brightest attorneys, and human beings.
We have achieved this success by providing flexibility, maintaining an inclusive and vibrant culture in which attorneys can thrive and excel, and providing a platform for our attorneys—many of whom joined us from big law—to provide clients with the top-shelf representation they deserve at a fair price point.
The New Jersey Law Journal has named the firm’s Appellate Advocacy practice the Appellate Litigation Department of the Year for seven of the past eight years (2018 through 2025, with no firm receiving the award in 2023, when Pashman Stein was named Law Firm of the Year).
Pashman Stein’s Appellate Advocacy practice is widely recognized as one of the strongest and most sophisticated in the region. The firm regularly handle high-profile appeals before state and federal appellate courts in a range of matters, including constitutional challenges, regulatory appeals, and trial court appeals. The firm’s clients benefit from the experience of its retired appellate court judges and appellate practitioners who have a deep understanding of the nuances of appellate advocacy.
