Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. Featured in New Jersey Law Journal Following Eighth Appellate Department of the Year Win
Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. was named the winner of the Litigation Department of the Year – Appellate award in the New Jersey Law Journal’s 2026 New Jersey Legal Awards, marking the eighth time the firm has received the honor since 2018 (No firm received the award for 2023). The New Jersey Law Journal also featured the firm’s Appellate Advocacy practice in a Q&A with Michael S. Stein, firm chair and managing partner.
In response to a question about what success requires in today’s changing legal services market, Stein noted:
"While there are many factors that drive a law firm’s success, one of the most important is to be able to adapt and pivot, while never compromising the core values that define the essence of who we are as lawyers, as a firm, and as members of our communities and families. This includes adopting new technology in a thoughtful and responsible way, as we did with our AI platforms; establishing new practice areas to remain competitive, as we did with our Bankruptcy, Restructuring & Creditors’ Rights practice; and perhaps most importantly, constantly reevaluating how we create an environment where our people can do excellent work while retaining a genuine sense of well-being, meaning, purpose, and connection.
We believe that success begins and ends with recruiting and retaining the best and brightest attorneys, and people. We have achieved this success by providing flexibility, maintaining an inclusive and vibrant culture in which attorneys can thrive and excel, and providing a platform for our attorneys—many of whom joined us from big law—to provide clients with the top-shelf representation they deserve at a fair price point.”
The New Jersey Law Journal has named the firm’s Appellate Advocacy practice Appellate Department of the Year eight times since 2018. No firm received the award in 2023, when Pashman Stein was named Law Firm of the Year.
