Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is pleased to announce that Michael S. Stein, managing partner and firm chair of Pashman Stein, was named “Office Managing Partner of the Year” by the New Jersey Law Journal as part of its 2025 New Jersey Legal Awards. Stein was featured in a Q&A with the New Jersey Law Journal. In response to a question about challenges in managing law firms in recent years, Stein noted:

The increasing competition for talent and rising AmLaw salaries has created new challenges; but we have continued to appeal to laterals leaving Big Law, as they see our dedication to having a special environment. I’ve been known for sharing this personal goal with attorneys and staff: to ensure they have the same spring in their step on Monday morning when they come in to work as they do on Friday evening as they head out with their family and friends. We have created a culture that prioritizes not just top shelf and intellectually stimulating work but also work/life balance and the deliberate effort to bring meaning, purpose, and passion into the daily professional experience for all of our employees - the opportunity of “doing good while doing well.”

Ranked in Band 1 for Commercial Litigation in New Jersey by Chambers and Partners, Stein specializes in general commercial litigation, chancery litigation, legal ethics, and appellate advocacy. He has substantial trial and appellate experience in both state and federal courts, concentrating his practice primarily on complex and sophisticated corporate, business and probate disputes. He also serves as an advisor to the firm’s corporate clients on a wide variety of matters, including partnership and shareholder disputes, intellectual property rights, antitrust matters, professional malpractice, chancery litigation, legal ethics, land use and restrictive covenants.
