Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C. is proud to announce that Deanna L. Koestel, Chair of the firm’s Construction Law practice and Partner in the firm’s Litigation practice, has been included in the 2023 Super Lawyers New York Metro: Women’s Edition list.

Koestel concentrates her practice on commercial litigation, construction law, and general business law matters in New Jersey and New York.

“This is a well-deserved recognition, as Deanna has earned a reputation among colleagues as a superb lawyer,” said Pashman Stein Firm Chair and Managing Partner Michael S. Stein. “Her extensive knowledge, experience and skill assists clients in navigating difficult litigation, as well as in developing business plans and contracts to avoid litigation in the first place.”

Koestel  represents both individual clients and business entities in multiple industries including construction, pharmaceutical and healthcare, and food, beverage, and hospitality, among others. She routinely handles a wide variety of business disputes and often acts as an “outside” general counsel to her clients.  Given her broad experience with the New Jersey and New York courts, she often acts as “local counsel” for out-of-state firms and the clients they represent and regularly assists clients with responses to non-party subpoenas.

Koestel  is an  experienced construction lawyer with a strong track record of success in handling complex legal matters for clients in the construction industry. She has a deep understanding the unique legal issues that arise in construction projects, and  is highly regarded for her knowledge and expertise in the field.

Koestel is active in Interlaw, an international law firm network of which the firm is a member.  She serves on the firm’s Interlaw Committee and on the Interlaw Cares Committee which focuses on Interlaw’s impact and philanthropy strategy and goals. She is also a member of the firm’s Women’s Leadership Committee.  In addition to her legal work, she is also actively involved in several nonprofit  and community activities, including serving on the Board of Directors of Girls on the Run NYC.
