CJ Griffin Quoted in the New Jersey Monitor, “Debate Simmers Over Fate of Effort to Overhaul New Jersey’s Open Public Records Law”
CJ Griffin, partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was recently quoted in a New Jersey Monitor article titled, “Debate Simmers Over Fate of Effort to Overhaul New Jersey’s Open Public Records Law.” The article discusses the ongoing debate over almost 30 pages of new proposed restrictions to the Open Public Records Act, which would limit the public’s access to government records. This ongoing discourse sparked a panel discussion, which was sponsored by The New Jersey Society of Professional Journalists.
CJ Griffin, a panelist speaker at the event, said, “This is all part of a coordinated effort by local government, whether it’s counties or towns, who don’t like transparency and don’t like what it’s revealing.”
“No one likes secrecy, whether you’re a MAGA Republican or a Bernie fan,” Griffin continued.
