CJ Griffin Quoted in Article on Withholding Virtual Grand Jury Records in New Jersey

CJ Griffin, director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was quoted in New Jersey Law Journal article, “Lawyers Rebuke Judiciary's Decision to Withhold Virtual Grand Jury Records.” The article discusses why lawyers want transparency by the courts on virtual grand jury evaluation forms.

“There are so many grave constitutional concerns about these virtual grand juries, so the judiciary should try to be as transparent as possible about the feedback that is given by these grand jurors who are serving as guinea pigs,” Griffin said. “The judiciary could redact these surveys to shield the identity of the individuals completing the survey, but let the public and advocates see what the feedback was and whether it is being remedied. This could help build trust in the process.”
