CJ Griffin Discusses New Jersey’s TRUST Commission with the New Jersey Monitor
CJ Griffin, partner and director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., was recently quoted in an article in the New Jersey Monitor titled, “Panel Recommends New State Inspector General to Combat Corruption.” The article discusses how a state panel, the TRUST Commission, is recommending the creation of a new state inspector general’s office to better fight corruption, ethics abuses, and non-criminal fraud in New Jersey government.
Griffin said New Jersey could always use more oversight but stopped short of endorsing the report’s proposal.
“In general, I think there should always be more watchdogs than we have,” she said. “Whether that means we need new, entirely different watchdogs or just expanding the staffing at our current watchdogs, I don’t know.”
Griffin has represented the New Jersey Monitor in multiple legal matters.
