The New Jersey Open Public Records Act (“OPRA”) is a powerful tool for reporters, activists, and residents who want to ensure that their government is transparent. Through OPRA, you can track and monitor an agency’s finances and activities to ensure that government is accountable to the people. Transparency helps curb corruption and misconduct. Public records belong to the public, yet many people are unaware of how to obtain them. This seminar will provide you with the nuts and bolts to use OPRA effectively.
