Hon. Ellen L. Koblitz, P.J.A.D. (Ret.), special counsel at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden P.C., recently served as a judge for the New Jersey State Bar Foundation’s annual Vincent J. Apruzzese High School Mock Trial Competition in the Bergen County Courthouse alongside her daughter Marissa Koblitz Kingman, partner at Fox Rothschild.

Launched in 1982, this competition has become a shining example of how legal and educational communities come together to provide interactive learning experiences for high school students outside of the classroom. Using an original case the NJSBF’s Mock Trial Committee prepares, student teams take on the roles of attorneys, witnesses and jurors. The program helps provide an interactive educational experience that enhances students’ writing, speaking and analytical skills as they learn about the justice system.
