Deanna L. Koestel Moderates Inspiring Discussion with TALEA Beer Co-Founder Tara Hankinson

Event
7.12.24

On June 18, 2024, Deanna L. Koestel, North American Chair of the Women of Interlaw group, recently moderated the discussion entitled “Breaking Down Barriers: The Story of New York City’s First Female-Founded Beer Company,” the first in a series of conversations with inspiring women business leaders from around the world, which featured Tara Hankinson, co-founder of TALEA Beer Company, New York City's first woman-owned brewery.

During this engaging discussion, attended by lawyers from the global Interlaw network, Tara shared her journey into the brewing world, highlighting the challenges she faced in a traditionally male-dominated industry. She spoke about how her innovative approach to brewing and her commitment to creating an inclusive, welcoming environment for all beer enthusiasts have set TALEA apart as a beacon of diversity and creativity in the community.

Deanna and Tara discussed the strategies behind TALEA's success and how Tara and her co-founder, Le Ann Darland, have become sources of inspiration for breaking barriers and making significant impacts not just in their industry, but also to women in all industries.

Deanna is the chair of the firm’s Construction Law practice and member of the Litigation practice. To learn more about Deanna and her practice, click here, and to learn more about the Women of Interlaw Network, click here.
