Pashman Stein Walder Hayden is proud to announce that attorneys Tracy Julian, Timothy P. Malone, and Linda Torosian were honored at the 2020 New Jersey Judiciary Pro Bono Attorney Recognition Event for their pro bono representation of a natural parent who appealed a contested private adoption.
After the appellate division sua sponte determined that prior counsel provided ineffective assistance, the Pashman Stein team took on the assignment and the Appellate Division ultimately reversed the decision to terminate the natural parent’s parental rights and vacated the order of adoption.
“My clients often face issues with child custody, parenting time, and similar matters,” said Tracy. “In this particular matter, a mother’s parental rights were terminated. This area of law is a call to service, regardless. When you can see someone through these difficult situations and bring civility, calm and solutions to those problems for them, it’s a very rewarding way to practice law.”
Tracy is a partner in the Firm’s Family Law and Commercial Litigation groups and serves as chair of the Family Law Group. She represents clients in all phases of litigation, arbitration, and mediation related to family law and business conflict. She is a qualified NJ Ct. R. 1:40-12 family law mediator able to assist clients in resolving their differences through mediation, a more amicable alternative to litigation.
Timothy Malone is Counsel in the Firm’s Litigation practice. Tim represents clients in a wide range of complex litigation matters involving commercial, corporate, and employment law, trusts and estates law, environmental law, and personal injury matters. Tim has significant experience at both the trial and appellate levels, and represents all sizes of clients, from individuals to multi-national corporations.
Linda Torosian is an associate in the Firm’s Family Law practice. Her educational background and professional training led her to a legal career with a focus on family matters. Linda earned her Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as her M.A. in Psychological Studies, and prior to entering law, she spent several years as a family therapist, mental health clinician and a counselor specializing in family evaluations and recommendations on parental rights and child custody.
