Linda Torosian is an associate in the Firm’s Family Law practice. Her educational background and professional training led her to a legal career with a focus on family matters. Linda earned her Ed.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy, as well as her M.A. in Psychological Studies, and prior to entering law, she spent several years as a family therapist, mental health clinician, and a counselor specializing in family evaluations and recommendations on parental rights and child custody.

At Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, Linda handles the full range of family law matters including complex litigation involving significant assets, business evaluations, and high conflict custody and visitation issues. Linda also focuses her practice on the legal needs of the LGBTQ community, including same sex adoptions, and issues related to the dissolution of a same sex marriage.

Linda’s approach is highly attentive and compassionate, and she is a strong advocate for her clients, whether in litigation or negotiation. Her clients benefit from her background as a family therapist, as her insight is thoughtful and sensitive, and she aims to reach amicable resolutions to their cases.

In addition, due to her psychology expertise and her experience as a practicing family lawyer, Linda is frequently appointed to serve as a Guardian Ad Litem (R. 5:8B) and Counsel for Child (R. 5:8A) to help the courts assess solutions that are in the best interests of the children involved in a family matter. Her background in mental health uniquely positions Linda to carefully investigate a family’s dynamics and make sound recommendations about custody, visitation, and other significant issues.

Named a Rising Star by New Jersey Super Lawyers in 2019-2021, Linda is actively involved in the legal community. She is a member of NJ-AFCC, an interdisciplinary association of mental health and legal professionals, mediators, and academics dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through the resolution of family conflict.

Prior to joining Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, Linda was an associate at Winne, Banta, Basralian & Kahn, PC, where she worked in the litigation and family law departments.

In Linda's Words:

"Family law is a highly-specialized and personal area of the law. Although the nature of the practice can be contentious, given the intense emotions involved, I do my best to meet my clients’ goals in the most amicable way possible. Our clients come to us during the most vulnerable points in their lives. My job is to help them reach a peaceful resolution, even when that concept seems impossible. It is crucial to find solutions and decrease the potential negative impact of the situation, particularly when children are involved. Simply put, my clients entrust me with one of their most precious assets – their families. As such, despite the stressors that may accompany such a role, it is a privilege to be part of their journey."
