Brendan M. Walsh, a member at Pashman Stein, PC, in Hackensack, NJ, has been selected to New Jersey Law Journal’s “2015 New Leaders of the Bar” list. Walsh was named to the list of 50 attorneys in New Jersey under the age of 40 who have been recognized for their accomplishments and represent the new wave of leadership in the New Jersey legal profession by a seven-member judging panel composed of evaluators from all corners of the legal profession statewide.
Walsh focuses his practice on complex civil litigation and appellate advocacy. His experience extends across all stages of litigation, from the pleading stage through discovery, motion practice and, finally, trial. He has substantial appellate experience, having successfully handled appeals in the U.S. Courts of Appeals for the Second, Third, and D.C. Circuits, as well as the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey. He also has authored amicus briefs to a number of courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States and the Supreme Court of New Jersey. In 2014 Walsh co-authored and served as counsel of record for an amicus brief filed in the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of a group of fifteen members of the United States Congress. He was named to Rising Stars in 2013, 2014, and 2015. Before joining Pashman Stein, Walsh was a litigation associate at Patton Boggs LLP.
Walsh, a resident of Verona, earned a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in 2000 and in 2006, he received his J.D., summa cum laude, Order of the Coif, from Seton Hall University School of Law, where he served as editor-in-chief of the law review. Following law school, he clerked for the Honorable Katharine S. Hayden of the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the Honorable Maryanne Trump Barry of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Walsh is admitted to the New Jersey and New York bars. Prior to attending law school, Walsh worked as a certified public accountant at Deloitte & Touche where he provided audit and advisory services to a diverse group of clients, including other accounting and consulting firms, manufacturers, retailers, and a professional sports franchise.
According to Mike Stein, Pashman Stein co-founder and chair of the litigation practice, “Brendan has already made a name for himself within the State’s legal community as an exceptional litigator. This honor is well deserved, and we are so proud that he is a valued member of our firm.”
