Tracy Julian, Partner and Chair of the Family Law Practice group at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was quoted in the Law.com article “How I Made Office Managing Partner: ‘My Consistent Enthusiasm for Growth and Commitment to a Positive Firm Culture.’” In the article, Julian discusses the path leading to her appointment as Holmdel Office Managing Partner in Bell Works, New Jersey and shares her insights about rising up the ranks.

I was a founding partner in opening the Pashman Stein Holmdel/Bell Works office five years ago and had shared a vision with my partners and firm leadership concerning what we together believed the office could become. We wanted to be more than a traditional “satellite office” and made a commitment to maintaining the continuity of the firm’s warm, team-oriented culture and legal excellence throughout. I would like to think the firm selected me to become the managing partner of this office due to my consistent enthusiasm for growth and for maintaining our commitment to a positive firm culture and excellence—while fostering an environment where people work hard and genuinely enjoy coming into the office.

When asked about advice to those who aspire to rise up the ranks to firm leadership, Julian offered:

My advice to someone who seeks a place in firm leadership is to be brave; speak honestly and directly from your gut; listen to those around you; maintain an open mind and consider other’s points of view; work hard; and maintain positivity and compassion, particularly when others do not. … Never fear failure because that is where the fiercest growth and evolution will take place.
