Litigation Legal Assistant, Monmouth County


Pashman Stein Walder Hayden is seeking a full-time litigation assistant for its Holmdel office.

Primary Tasks Include:

  • Assist in day-to-day responsibilities in support of attorneys, including managing calendar, drafting and preparing pleadings, and filing pleadings with various trial-level and appellate courts using eCourts filing system.
  • Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, and other professional contacts in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Managing busy attorney calendars including confirming and coordinating court appearances, meetings, etc.
  • Copying, scanning, and filing.
  • Reminding attorneys of deadlines for filings, appearances, meetings, etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Education:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a legal assistant.
  • Must have knowledge of state and federal court rules and filing procedures, as well as significant experience creating Table of Authorities and Table of Contents.
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong computer and technical skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • A high standard of ethics, including maintaining confidentiality, is also vital.
