CJ Griffin, Director of the Justice Gary S. Stein Public Interest Center at Pashman Stein Walder Hayden, was quoted in the July 20, 2020, Op-Ed by Star Ledger Editorial Board, “Grewal’s call for more police transparency: Here’s the best way to get it.” The article discusses the New Jersey Attorney General’s recent order for police transparency and making major discipline records available to the public.

Those penalties are very rare even when a complaint is sustained, attorney CJ Griffin, the open records advocate, points out. She offers the Orange Police Department as an example: Out of the 81 IA investigations conducted in 2018 by the OPD, only 13 complaints were sustained and only 6 resulted in “major disciplines.”
